The Story
Karen Dark, a young girl who dreams of becoming an adventurer, loses her companions on her very first expedition. Cast into the depths of despair, she encounters an immortal clan and an elven girl named Shunra.
As conspiracies surrounding the resurrection of the Demon King unfold, Karen becomes entangled in the rebellion in the royal capital of Katmar and the Five Trials imposed by the Council of Elders of the port city-state of Eldor. Before long, Karen is no longer a girl waiting to be protected.

Shunra Lisren
A 192-year-old elf who can outfight almost anyone—and still has no idea how to handle love. She is a girl who moves by instinct rather than reason, as wild and untamed as a blade. Brash and awkward, she nevertheless feels more deeply than anyone and loves with greater intensity than anyone else.
Choryo
A brilliant strategist who withdrew from the world to live in a secluded mountain temple. He reads the battlefield through observation and calculation rather than emotion. The complete opposite of Shunra in temperament, he eventually becomes her partner—and the person who profoundly changes the course of her life.
Garanka Samie
A warrior of the troll race and commander of the king’s personal guard in Katomar. The heir to the Samie family, a distinguished lineage of elite adventurers, he is an arrogant and overbearing man who nevertheless possesses a surprisingly attentive and considerate nature.
